Meet the GALs for Beachwood Schools

Rini Ghosh, Kim Allamby, and Wendy Leatherberry currently serve on the Beachwood Board of Education.

We are all moms who care deeply about public education and our community.

Rini Ghosh

I moved to Beachwood in 2019 for my husband's job at the Cleveland Clinic and have two kids in the school district. As an Indo Canadian-American who’s rebuilt community in three countries, I never expected to love a small town—but in Beachwood, I’ve found my people, and truly enjoy serving my community. I'm a policymaker & community engagement professional, and help researchers use data and community focused strategies to identify policy issues and use evidence to create and implement solutions.

Kim Allamby

Kim Allamby grew up in Shaker Heights and was raised by her mother who instilled values of hard work, pursuing excellence, and having strong family and community ties. Kim works as a physical therapist and enjoys making a positive impact with her patients. She began serving on the school board in January of 2022 and is currently serving as VP. Kim has lived in Beachwood for 10 years with her husband Carl, their two daughters, Kayla and Kennedy, and guinea pigs Dreamer and Misty.

Wendy Leatherberry

Wendy Leatherberry is a non-profit professional with more than 25 years of experience navigating complex issues with grace, strategy, empathy and equanimity. Her passion for social and economic justice are evident in her career path and her volunteer and extracurricular work. She attributes this to her Reform Judaism and the example of both of her parents. Wendy is a mom, wife, daughter and an activist for democracy and justice. She and her husband, Carl, have two sons, Sam (BHS class of '21) and Ian (currently a BMS sixth grader) and two dogs, Leela and Reena.
